RESILIENCE & EXECUTIVE COACH
About Ann
I'm Ann Brown, a resilience and executive coach based in Auckland. I work with high-performing women in corporate roles who are doing well on the outside and feeling the pressure underneath, and who want to keep performing without burning out.
So why should you trust me? I’m still living what I coach. I work in corporate leadership during the week and coach on Sundays, so I see the industry trends and pressures first-hand, and I’m adapting alongside you.
I grew up in India, with family ties to Britain, and moved to New Zealand in 2002 with young children. I built my career in banking, where 2am finishes in audit week were just part of the job, and later led Enterprise Risk and Resilience at NZTA Waka Kotahi, coaching a team of senior advisors and leading executive conversations about uncertainty and change.
Over 30 years I've worked in leadership, learning and development, risk and HR across businesses headquartered in New Zealand, Australia, USA and India so I understand what it's like to start again in a new country or lead a team made up of many cultures.
I also know the pull of home as well as work, from caring for parents to the expectations of wider family and the guilt that comes with saying no. Many of the women I coach carry the same weight, and they can talk about it with me openly and without judgement.
Resilience has been part of my working life for a long time, and I've seen what happens when people are expected to cope on their own, which is a big part of why I do this work.
My story
Why I coach, and how I work
Seeing people gain clarity, grow personally and professionally, and achieve more than they had ever dared to dream after a period of coaching led me to seek a professional qualification. I completed Coach Training Certification with the International Coach Academy, and I'm a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the gold standard in coaching.
As a coach, I create a challenging and respectful space and ask non-judgemental questions that lead you to the decisions you need to make. Then I help you follow through, so you can make a breakthrough and balance your life and career.
As a mentor, I share my own experiences and what I've learnt, so you can see your situation from a different perspective. My clients come to me from different countries and walks of life to talk about their work lives, their private lives, and often both. I'll help you work out what's important and take the steps to get the most from your life.
My best moments are when I'm helping people make the most of their opportunities and challenges, and do their best at work and at home.
“I am always in awe of Ann’s brainpower! She brings such clarity and pragmatism to everything we work on or discuss. She has a real ability to cut through complexity and land on clear, workable ways forward, which makes a big difference especially when things are busy or a bit messy.”

I'm your Sunday coach
Book a free 30-minute strategy call with me. Tell me what's going on at work and at home, and we'll work out together whether coaching is the right next step for you. Whatever you decide, you'll leave with one thing you can try this week.
I run my sessions on Sundays, by phone or video, so you get time to think without stepping away from work. If you'd like to get to know me first, I share tools and stories from my own life every week on Instagram and Facebook.
